Valentine's Day is coming up soon and WHiRR is joining the festivities.
If you're feeling nostalgic for grade school, when you had to give Valentines to everyone in your class, WHiRR has some elementary-friendly mini cards available to download, print, and distribute. Hand them out to friends, lovers, and strangers on the street. Print them as they are or get DIY and embellish them with 3D baubles. The possibilities are almost limitless!

We're starting off the new year with new things to look at!
I've (finally) updated the Art section on the WHiRR website. It's slideshow-tastic!

In sadder news, the Robot of Leisure comic is officially on hiatus until further notice. Current scheduling factors are not conducive to comic strip goodness. However, if there's a loud enough clamor for the comic, I'll look into coming out of temporary retirement. New WHiRR products are due for a Spring release, so we're not disappearing altogether.

Found this sketch while sorting through old WHiRR files. It's Boris v1.1. His appendages have been simplified and he can no longer be found behind the counter of any fast food establishment. What is he reacting to? Only the artist knows (or did know and has long forgotten, as is frequently the case with this artist).
Also of note, there seems to be a trend towards WHiRR-inspired tattoos (I've seen two already). If you have any Boris tattoos or any other unofficial Boris-ish items, send me an email with a photo. Maybe I'll post the photo on my MySpace or the WHiRR website. And if you happen to be sporting any WHiRR materials, official or home-brewed, please credit the proper source (Katharine and WHiRR). We're still small and indie and need the free advertising.

WHiRR laboratories is now located in Toronto, Ontario. To celebrate, we'll be participating in the Last Minute Craft Fair at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre on December 16. If you're in the area, admission is free and we're looking to meet new crafty and/or robot-appreciating friends.
If you're in the San Francisco area, take the afternoon on December 9 to shop indie at Pandora's Trunk, where WHiRR merchandise will be on display and for sale. San Franciscans should also be on the lookout for WHiRR in MILA.
