John also explained what themers can expect when upgrading a theme from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 as well as how enjoyable he finds working in Drupal 7.

Grandma Party 2010 Vendors

Grandma Party is a semi-annual event hosted by Stardust Video and Coffee, a long-standing hipster hangout and art / performance space in Orlando, right on the edge of Winter Park in the Audubon Park district. Meet some of the vendors, and see some of the sights and sounds, but sadly not the smells. This 8th Grandma Party was held December 19th, 2010 – just in time for Holiday gift shopping.

I always look forward to Grandma Party, and this year’s event was no disappointment. See you in a few months for the next one!

Mumpsy’s Greek Mythologist Series

Local band Mumpsy collaborated with some local artists to create these beautiful videos, each featuring the story of a prominent character from Greek Myths. Here I have them in a playlist, so you can watch them all in a row. The album was released earlier this year.

I first became aware of the project when they had a photography show at local hangout Ethos Vegan Kitchen. I knew there was music associated with it, but I didn’t really absorb it all until just this week. I can’t seem to find a place to buy the record online. Hopefully Jeff will write me back.

You can (must) certainly check out their latest album, Fatelifter. The band had a Kickstarter campaign for Fatelifter earlier in the year, which was very successful. You can probably get the most up-to-date information on Mumpsy at Facebook.

Suddenly Santa (2009)

Santa arrives on Amtrak and as he walks through Winter Park is surrounded by holiday cheer as children and bystanders join him in singing Joy to the World.

This video is part of a viral campaign for a local film and book about the legend of Santa Claus. Check out their site Santa Is Real.

DrupalEasy Podcast 48: Leave the Cat, Take the Cannolis

Drupal 7 RC2, worldwide release parties, Drupalcon Chicago sessions, and Larry Garfield's stellar post about Drupal's audiences lead the way as Andrew, Ryan, and Mike get together for another DrupalEasy podcast. Listen in as they talk about Wolfgang's Master's Degree, Mike stumbles trying to extract meaning from Crell's mind, and they all get excited about the potential increase in DrupalCon session quality.

Santa at the Enzian

Santa made a stop at Enzian to visit and pick up the kids’ letters to Santa, and he promises that “they’ll get to the right people.” A lovely time was had by all, kids, parents and Santa.

I love some of the fun themed (non-movie) events that the fine folks at Enzian have been cooking up lately.

Solillaquists of Sound “Marvel” music video by x:144

Marvel from Solillaquists of Sound’s latest release “No More Heroes” (Anti-/Epitaph Records), is the first of a 3-part music video series shot by fellow Orlando MC/producer and first time director, X:144.

This series of videos is set to mirror the groups collection of three conceptually linked albums called The Listeners Trilogy. This first video, much like the first album of the trilogy, As if We Existed, introduces the story’s characters to the audience.

The next video will follow the action-packed dynamic of No More Heroes. The story will unfold over the next couple of months with the release of the next two videos and provide a bridge to the final album of the trilogy.

video edited, directed & cinematography by X:144 (Maged Khalil Ragab) on NO budget.. not one penny!
